   I like your list of hoped for changes to the US economy. However, they will require belt-tightening somewhere (ask the healthcare complex to take less money? raise taxes to actually pay for the infrastructure? don’t just buy US materials, but buy US construction equipment? - the Chinese are about to take on this sector with cheap imported machines).

   Instead of doing these direct cost raisings (with devastating political punishement), why not make Wall Street take the burden?

   Have the Democrats pass one single piece of tax legislation as follows:

   hold an investment for 1 day or less? 90% capital gains tax
   hold an investment for 3 years or more? 10% capital gains tax

   And use a single straight-line curve for everything in between. Now, all the long-term investments (climate, infrastructure, high paying jobs here, innovation, etc.) make sense. Companies will be rewarded for them. Now, all the bozo’s sitting in front of computer screens buying and selling paper in a few seconds actually will pay big-time into the Treasury to stop our death by borrowing.

   Don’t listen to the PhD’s that will want some sort of funky curve, or all kinds of exceptions for real estate or for little old ladies (who are better off than we are). One straight line (the Schoonmaker curve) for all capital gains. If you hold a stock for 1 day, let’s face it, that’s investing only if a wet noodle makes a good hockey stick. They are just gambling, and we all know it. Make the CEO’s and the DemoRepublicats in Washington think long term for the first time in their lives.

   American Made Yes is trying to boost American manufacturing providing American jobs. We ourselves do not sell anything. We are privately funded trying to do our small “bit” to keep America strong with American jobs for our children and grandchildren.

   If any of your readers want to share with us knowledge of any American manufacturing companies, large and small, we love to have that information so we can list them. You can check out the diverse listings from American Made Baby Food to American Made building and construction Products on our website, American Made Yes.

   The way we find American Made Products etc. is to “shop” the stores where we live  (New Hampshire)  for anything and everything they sell.  Right now our visitors write to us looking American made winter boots, gloves, men’s clothing and men’s underwear, women’s coats

   American Made Yes also receives emails from across our great country giving us this information. We then do two things: we check the websites for confirmation and write to the company or phone them asking for confirmation that the company makes one or more of their products in the USA.

   If it is absolutely clear in their website, we list them.  Sometimes,  it is not clear, so we may list them with a warning to our visitors saying that “some of the products are outsourced and that the buyer should check the labels.” 

   We welcome suggestions and email from anyone who would like to help in being a “shopper” for American Made Yes.
