Speak Softly and, Well…Whatever
Posted by SCapozzola on December 6th, 2007A few weeks ago, ManufactureThis reported on growing European disenchantment with China’s intransigence on currency issues. EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson was urging China to do more to “remedy” the currency “imbalances that exist.”
Now, it seems that Japan is getting in on the act. According to the Wall Street Journal’s Michael Phillips, Japanese Finance Minister Fukushiro Nukaga is pressing Beijing for the “fastest possible” appreciation of its currency, the Yuan.
It’s no secret that China manipulates its currency in order to benefit its exporters. And it happens that currency manipulation is illegal under existing WTO law.
But China continues this blatant currency manipulation, and U.S. manufacturers continue to bear the brunt of such deliberate mercantilism.
Next week, Treasury Secretary Paulson travels to Beijing to discuss issues of “mutual interest” with his Chinese counterparts at the latest ‘Strategic Economic Dialogue.’ One would think that Secretary Paulson would bark quite loudly about currency issues when he lands. But at present, the Treasury Department’s semi-annual report on foreign currency activity is two months overdue to the Senate Banking Committee. If Mr. Paulson seems to be in little hurry to report China’s bad behavior to the U.S. Congress, it’s doubtful he’ll make much fuss when he rolls into dragon country.

Today I read Kerri Houston’s article in the Fort Mill Times, “China cheats and it is choking S.C.” Her last sentence, “only the GOP candidate willing to define himself by making a commitment to American Prosperity and Security….” scared me if she talking about the threat outlined in a detailed and thoroughly researched book written by Dr. Jerome R. Corsi entitled “The Late Great USA, The Coming Merger with Mexico and Canada”.
The book outlines the formation of the North American Union, having one currency for North America (the Amero) the Trans-Texas Corridor for free and open entry of trade into the United States from Mexico, Red China opening ports in Mexico, and the secret formation of a Security and Prosperity Partnership (between Canada, Mexico and United States). He states that, “a North American Union is not inevitable, it is plausible given the actions of current and previous administrations.”
The following are some questions I ask myself and shouldn’t all citizens that are concerned about what answers our political leaders have to offer and what actions they are willing to take to stop these under cover actions being taken by the administration, Congressional leaders, multinational globalist corporations and former politically connected members of prior administrations. I submit these questions to you for your response.
•How has one man, Dr. Robert Pastor been able to exercise his influence on this nation by promoting the North American Union?
•Why are our south and north borders still open?
•Why are border enforcement officers prosecuted and fleeing drug smugglers can go free?
•Why does China enjoy one-sided advantages built into the free trade agreements?
•Why was NAFTA approved and why is it now being used to merge the USA, Mexico and Canada?
•Why is consideration even being given to making the Amero the currency of North America?
•Why hasn’t the borders of the United States been protected by building the already approved fence on the border and providing more boarder patrol agents.
•Why does Congress continue to delay enacting and approving an illegal immigrant bill?
•Why is a super highway being planned from Mexican ports, through Texas and on to Kansas City to support shipments from China through Mexico?
•Why are we so willing to allow jobs to go to China and Mexico at the expense of the American manufacturing workers and east and west coast dock workers who have built this country?
•Why do we even consider granting free emergency room health care and free education to illegal immigrants in our country?
•Why do employers continue to be able to hire illegal immigrants? No one is enforcing the laws on the books.
•Why do both Republicans and Democrats continue to play politics with our future as a free nation under God and are not getting anything done in Washington. Quit pointing fingers and using semantics to confuse the issues.
•Why do we continue to be so politically correct on all of these issues? The PC crowd will end up killing this country I love and I am sure many others do too.
Thanks to a few congressmen who have introduced legislation such as HCR-40 that calls for the United States to not engage in the construction of a super corridor or enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada. The problem is it is a resolution that calls “for Congress to express its sentiment” against these actions rather than pass laws to stop them NOW. I strongly insist that these Congressional Committees conclude their review in the Transportation and the Way and Means Committees and get them before the whole House to vote on.
Can the AAM or Kerri Houston answer my questions?
